Tejas American
General Agency (TAGA) operates as a wholesale
insurance agency providing commercial and
personal insurance products to independent
agents throughout the state of Texas. We are
licensed as a managing general agent and surplus
lines agent in order to provide both admitted
and non-admitted insurance products.
The business was formed in 1997 by a group of
key people who were formerly part of another MGA
operating in the Austin area. We believe that
providing our agents fast, friendly service with
quality insurance carriers is the key to our
success.
The total Texas insurance market is over $19
billion. Surplus lines writings of $1.1 billion
makes Texas the second largest state in the
country for this type of insurance. In addition,
recent changes in legal climate combined with a
cooperative department of insurance have
encouraged a new appetite for writing admitted
business as well.
Tejas American General Agency is located in the
Central Texas area outside our Capitol City in
Cedar Park Texas.
